Cameron School of Dance

Our school is devoted to encouraging the love of dance. We believe that everyone should have the chance to dance whether it be for fun, exercise or to compete. Students are encouraged to do their best no matter what their level of talent. We try to ensure quality, professional instruction in all disciplines.

We are the oldest privately run dance school in Canada and Quebec, in existence since 1930. We have been teaching children to dance for 92 years as we are a family run business spanning over 4 generations. The dance school offers quality, bilingual dance instruction in: Classical Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Highland, Irish, lyrical/Contemporary, Musical Theater, Hip Hop, and Acro dance. All of our senior Faculty are fully certified B.A.T.D, our Acrodance program and coaches are certified Acrobatic Arts and A.D.T.A and our assistants are all working towards their professional teacher certifications. Our philosophy is and has always been “children helping children” . Over the years, we have donated approximately 226 000$ to the Montreal Shriner’s Hospital for sick children.

Selecting a day camp for our 6 year old’s first summer off from school was a decision we put much thought into. I loved that the Cameron Dance camp offered a perfect mix of dancing, crafts, and outdoor activities.The highlights I heard most often were how awesome her teachers were and how much she loved going to the pool! � The weekly show for the parents was impressive and it was surprising how many dances the kids learned and performed each week! The 6 weeks flew by and a few tears were shed when camp came to an end; we are looking forward to next summer! Once again, thank you to everyone who helped make this summer one to remember for our daughter!

My daughter, Olivia, adored the 2 weeks she spent at dance camp. She was always eager to go in the morning and in the evening she would practice the routines they were learning. The shows were amazing. I couldn’t believe they learned all those routines in just 5 days! Olivia loved Mariah, Caitlin. Amanda and Jade. Their names are engraved in my brain from hearing Olivia sing the camp cheer 🙂 Even her two year old brother sings it! The counsellors were always warm, cheerful and welcoming every morning. As a parent, I felt confident leaving my child in such good hands. Olivia is already thinking of next summer and has told me numerous times “Maman, next summer I’m ONLY doing dance camp!!” :)c Thank you again! We love the dance school. We look forward to the fall session.

Students

Students of all ages and levels are welcome. In many cases we have families of 2 or more dancers as well as parents participating. We are more than simply a dance school, we are a close knit community of friends and peers who enjoy learning and exploring together. Friendships are built and cherished at the Cameron School of Dance Inc. and continue on beyond the studio walls.

Faculty

All faculty are either fully certified or working towards their professional certifications. They promote a positive, enthusiastic learning environment. Many have grown from within the school and others bring fresh experiences from other institutions.

Location & Hours

Our dance school is situated in the heart of Brossard, Québec. We have multiple layers of raised, shock absorbing professional dance floors, over 150 parking spots, a bike rack and several restaurants near us for the parents to grab a coffee or tea.
